MEETING OF THE PERMANENT COUNCIL AT CIS ATC HEAD WITH PARTICIPATION OF THE PLENIPOTENTIARY REPRESENTATIVES OF THE COMMONWEALTH STATES

A meeting of the permanent council at the CIS ATC Head was held in Moscow on January 30, 2026 and brought together representatives of 9 Commonwealth states (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, SORB Executive Bureau, the Council of Commanders of Border Troops, Secretariat of the Council of Heads of CIS Financial Intelligence Units, and two Basic Organizations of the CIS Member-States for Training Personnel in the Field of Countering Terrorism and Extremism and for Studying Problems of Countering Terrorism and Other Manifestations of Extremism.

During the event, participants exchanged views on the situation in the CIS member-states in the field of countering terrorism and extremism in 2025 and trends of its development in 2026, the most important events in the foreign and domestic affairs of the Commonwealth countries, and thoroughly reviewed a broad agenda.

The Head of the CIS ATC informed the participants about the results of the Center's work and anti-terrorist cooperation within the CIS over the past year, noted the high level of interaction between the competent authorities and CIS authorities in all key areas of cooperation, which made it possible to achieve concrete positive results in ensuring security in the CIS, and outlined the key priorities in the Center's work for the current year.

The heads of the relevant CIS basic organizations presented the results of joint activities of agencies’ scientific and educational institutions in the educational, methodological and scientific fields in 2025 and the main tasks for 2026.

The CIS ATC Deputy Head informed about the results of the Counter–Terrorism Forum held in 2025 in the Republic of Tajikistan, and the representative of the KGB of the Republic of Belarus informed about the concept of the 2026 forum to be held in Minsk.

The chief of the CIS ATC information and analytical section briefed on the progress of the implementation of the decision of the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of the CIS member-states on the quarterly issue of the CIS ATC Bulletin and organization of work of its editorial board.

The meeting was held in an atmosphere of trust and interested dialogue.
