On October 21–23, 2026, Moscow hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference on “Scientific and Humanitarian Cooperation as a Reliable Foundation of the Eurasian Security Architecture,” organized by the CIS Anti‑Terrorism Center and Moscow State Linguistic University.

The event was attended by more than 100 representatives of the scientific, educational, and expert communities from seven CIS member states (the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan), as well as international organizations (the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS, the Secretariat and the Parliamentary Assembly of the CSTO,  BKBOP, and the SKPV Coordination Service).

Sabyrzhan Ungarbaev, First Deputy Head of the CIS ATC, in his welcoming remarks noted that in modern conditions an effective fight against terrorism is impossible without the use of effective preventive measures, and this task is largely addressed in the fields of science, education, culture, and enlightenment.

During the conference, an engaged dialogue took place on a wide range of issues related to ensuring security in the Eurasian space.

A separate section was devoted to the scientific, educational, and humanitarian aspects of cooperation among Eurasian states in countering terrorism and extremism. Participants exchanged views on the development of effective tools to protect the population from the destructive influence of radical ideologies and to deradicalize individuals who have fallen under their influence.

Representatives of the CIS ATC shared their experience in coordinating the efforts of the international community in counter‑terrorism, and also informed about new approaches to preventing the illegal use of weapons and new technologies and the activities of “mosaic”‑type terrorist networks.
