The CIS ATC’s delegation, led by by First Deputy Head of the Center Mr. Sabyrzhan Ungarbaev, took part in the round table on "Deradicalization and social reintegration of individuals involved in illegal activities of terrorist and extremist organizations: opportunities and prospects", held in St. Petersburg on May 20, 2026.
The event brought together representatives of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, CIS Basic Organization for Research on Combating Terrorism and Other Manifestations of Extremism, parliamentary structures, relevant ministries and departments of the CIS countries, academia and expert community.
The agenda included discussions on the development of algorithms for the implementation of measures to deradicalize and promote the social reintegration of individuals involved in illegal activities of terrorist and extremist organizations, as well as those returning from conflict zones, convergence of national legislations of the CIS member-states, methodological and scientific support for activities in this area.
In his statement, Mr. Ungarbayev focused on urgent problems that hinder the formation of an effective and sustainable system of deradicalization and social reintegration of individuals involved in terrorist and extremist activities.
