Deputy chief of the information and analytical section of the CIS ATC took part in the CIS inter-MFA consultations “On countering new challenges and threats”, held in Minsk on June 17, 2026.

The event brought together representatives of the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan (as an observer), Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as the CIS bodies – the Executive Committee and the Secretariat of the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units.

During the consultations, the delegations exchanged assessments of the situation in countering terrorism and extremism in the Commonwealth countries and the trends of its development, addressed drug trafficking in the CIS and discussed measures taken to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.

In his statement, the CIS ATC’s representative informed the audience about current terrorist threats, highlighting the growing risks of radicalization and involvement of young people in illegal activities, and the results of operations of the CIS competent authorities in this area.

He also stressed the need to further strengthen international counter‑terrorism cooperation and emphasized that the annual CIS Counter‑Terrorism Forum — which combines a conference on countering terrorism and extremism with joint anti‑terrorism exercises — is in high demand among the expert community.
