The CIS ATC’s delegation took part in the 13th permanent expert group meeting of CIS ATC, CSTO Secretariat and SCO RATS Executive Committee, held in Tashkent on June 15, 2026.

The meeting was opened by the Director of the SCO RATS Executive Committee U.Z. Sharsheev, who noted the effectiveness of the trilateral format of expert cooperation in assessing the threats of terrorism and extremism and planning joint activities.

During the meeting, the participants exchanged information about the situation in countering terrorism and extremism in the Central Asian region, paying special attention to the situation in Afghanistan and its impact on the security threats to the neighboring states, and discussed information security issues.

The experts also reviewed proposals for holding events in combined formats of the CIS, the SCO, and the CSTO, taking into account the practice of joint work during the preparation and holding of counter-terrorism conferences and anti-terrorism exercises in 2024-2025.

The next permanent expert group meeting is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
