Deputy chief of the CIS ATC information and analytical section Mr. Anton Arefev took part in a follow up visit of the Executive Directorate of the UN Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee to the Republic of Tajikistan held on February 2-6, 2026.

The visiting delegation included also representatives of the UNOCT and UNODC, Monitoring team of the UN Security Council sanctions committees, INTERPOL, EAG and OSCE.

The international delegation focused on monitoring, promoting and facilitating the implementation by Tajikistan of Security Council counter-terrorism resolutions, including 1373 (2001), 1624 (2005), 2178 (2014), and recommendations made by CTED following the 2017 visit.

The participants discussed the practical application of national legislation and the efficiency of the work of the law enforcement sector in the anti-terrorist sphere, including criminal prosecution, rehabilitation, reintegration of persons associated with foreign terrorist fighters in the past, and countering the financing of terrorism.
