The CIS ATC's delegation led by First Deputy Head Sabyrzhan Ungarbayev, took part in a joint event on "Synergy of approaches of CIS, CSTO and SCO in deradicalization: challenges and opportunities" held on October 28, 2025, in Minsk.

The event was attended by SCO Secretary General N.B. Yermekbayev, CIS Deputy Secretary General N.M. Seytimov, CSTO Deputy Secretary General S.I. Ordabayev, representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, SKPV, SMVD, SCO RATS Executive Committee, UN Office of Counter-Terrorism, leading experts from research institutes, analytical centers and international organizations specializing in security issues and countering extremism.

The event participants discussed current threats posed by radicalization, agreed strategies and practical measures to reduce the risks of involving youth and other vulnerable groups in destructive ideological trends.

Special attention was paid to the coordination of efforts in preventing extremism, exchange of best practices in implementation of de-radicalization programs and formation of effective mechanisms to counter radical ideas.

Mr. Ungarbayev made a report on "Countering radicalization in the age of digital threats: combining the efforts of CIS, CSTO and SCO" in which, in particular, he noted the main directions for improving policy in deradicalization, including the formation of a national legal framework governing this activity, targeted research of the root causes of radicalization and enhancement of the training system for personnel involved in deradicalization activities.
