A delegation of the CIS ATC led by Deputy Head Mr. Sergey Zubkov took part in the plenary session of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (EAG) as part of the 44th EAG Plenary Week, held in Ashgabat on May 22–23, 2026.

The event brought together 35 delegations from 18 countries and 15 international organizations, totaling more than 250 participants.

The plenary session reviewed best practices of EAG member-states in improving national anti-money laundering systems in line with the standards of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), as well as measures to prepare for a new round of mutual evaluations. Participants also discussed issues related to countering the use of artificial intelligence and its derivatives as tools for financing terrorist activities, and their application in the work of competent authorities in the field of combating the financing of terrorism.

In his remarks, Sergey Zubkov informed the participants about the activities of the CIS ATC in countering the financing of terrorism and extremism, including work on anti-terrorist training tasks within the framework of the joint anti-terrorist exercise of the competent authorities of the CIS member states “Eurasia-Antiterrorism – 2026,” as well as participation in the work of the EAG Typologies and Crime Group.
