The CIS Anti-Terrorism Center's delegation led by its Head, Colonel-General Evgeny Sysoev took part in the Eleventh Scientific and Practical Conference of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on November 20, 2025 in Tashkent.

The event featured an interested exchange of views on the state and trends in the development of the situation in countering terrorism and extremism, current terrorist threats, national experience in countering terrorism, extremism and separatism, the state and prospects for the development of international anti-terrorist cooperation, the problems of deradicalization of minors and youth, countering terrorist use of information and communication technologies and financing of terrorism.

In his statement, the CIS ATC head informed the conference participants about the situation in countering terrorism and extremism, noting the key sources of security threats on the anti-terrorist track.

Amid the ongoing activity of the international terroriost organizations, the heads of the CIS and SCO states pay priority attention to improving the organization of interstate cooperation in countering terrorism and extremism. Notably they:

approved a five–year Program of Cooperation of the SCO member states in countering extremist ideology and a three–year Program of Cooperation of the CIS member-states in countering terrorism and extremism;

adopted a decision to grant an observer status to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the CIS;

established a new format of cooperation "CIS+", which opened up an additional opportunity to develop cooperation with international partners.
