CIS ATC attends a working meeting to summarize results of joint special border operations

On February 18, 2026, the CIS ATC’s delegation, led by the Center’s Head Mr. Evgeny Sysoev, took part in a working meeting of representatives of the border agencies of the CIS member-states, CIS cooperating bodies and working structures of international organizations to summarize the results of joint special border operations (SSPO) conducted in 2025 and to detail plans for their preparation and implementation in 2026.

The event was attended by representatives of the border agencies of 7 states (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan), 6 CIS bodies (Executive Committee, Anti-Terrorism Center, Office for the Coordination of Fight against Organized Crime, Committee of Heads of Law Enforcement Units of the Council of Heads of Custom Services, Coordination Service of the Council of Commanders of Border Troops, secretariats of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General, the Council of Defense Ministers, the Council of Heads of Migration Authorities, the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units), Interstate Aviation Committee, 3 CSTO bodies (Secretariat, Joint Staff and Executive Bureau of the Coordinating Council of Heads of Competent Authorities on Countring Drug Trafficking), Executive Committee of the SCO RATS, Border Academy and Border Research Center of the FSB of Russia.

The delegates noted the importance and necessity of coordinating the efforts of the border agencies and CIS cooperating bodies, as well as the working structures of international organizations in the preparation and implementation of joint practical measures aimed at ensuring border security at the external borders of the Commonwealth countries.

In his statement, the CIS ATC Head noted that the Coordination Service and the Center have been cooperating for more than 15 years and over the past years fruitful cooperation has been formed between the structures both on border security issues at the external borders of the Commonwealth and in the field of interstate search for terrorists and extremists. In this regard, Mr. Sysoev emphasized the importance of the SSPO which results annually prove the effectiveness of the current search mechanism.

In addition, the Center’s Deputy Head Mr. Abdykadyr Razaev intrevened at the working meeting and reported on the practice of providing assistance to the CIS member-states and Commonwealth bodies in carrying out the interstate search for perpetrators of terrorist and extremist crimes.
