The CIS Anti-Terrorism Center’ delegation participated in the 30th meeting of the Council of Heads of Migration Services of the CIS Member-States.

The event brought together heads of migration services from the Azerbaijan Republic, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation, Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Representatives from the CIS Executive Committee, the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the CIS Member-States, the General Confederation of Trade Unions, the Eurasian Economic Commission, the Standing Committee of the Union State, and the CIS ATC also attended.

During the meeting, the participants discussed changes in the migration legislation of the CIS Member-States and law enforcement practices within the Commonwealth in the migration sphere. Other topics included development of information exchange between states in this area, application of digital technologies for managing migration flows, organization of employment abroad and regulation of labor migration, and the organization of the Council’s activities and those of the migration authorities.

The Head of the Center briefed the meeting participants about the situation in countering terrorism and extremism within the CIS.
