The CIS ATC’s delegation led by its Head, Colonel-General Evgeny Sysoev, took part in the 58th meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of the CIS member-states (SORB) held in Irkutsk Region, Russian Federation, on May 26, 2026.
The event brought together executives of the competent authorities of 8 CIS member-states, including the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as CIS Executive Committee and CIS ATC.
The meeting focused on improving cooperation between the CIS special services.
The heads of the delegations assessed the situation in the CIS countries, exchanged views on security issues and the need to use the SORB as a platform for multilateral cooperation and elaboration of effective measures to neutralize common threats.
The Council members approved a conceptual document with recommendations on the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the activities of security agencies and special services.
The CIS ATC Head briefed about the results of 2025 joint activities in countering terrorism and extremism achieved by the CIS competent authorities, Anti-Terrorism Center and other CIS bodies within the framework of the implementation of cooperation programs of the CIS member-states in the fight on terrorism and extremism for 2023-2025 and in deradicalization for 2025-2027, as well as the results of the Counter-Terrorism Forum held in the Republic of Tajikistan and the XV Regional Expert Consultations hosted by the Republic of Armenia.
