Deputy Head of the CIS ATC Major General Abdykadyr Razaev took part in the 9th Regional Meeting of Heads of Border Agencies of the CIS member-states held in Guliston, Republic of Tajikistan on April 8, 2026.
The event was attended by delegations from 6 border agencies (the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan), SKPV, CIS ATC and CSTO Secretariat.
The meeting reviewed current threats to border security in the Central Asian region, and discussed joint preventive measures to neutralize them at the external borders of the Commonwealth countries.
In his statement, Mr. Razaev noted that the situation in Central Asia is being shaped by rising international and military-political tensions. It is characterized by persistent unfavorable trends in border areas with Afghanistan, intensified recruitment efforts by terrorist organizations, and the risks of terrorist threats stemming from situation in the Middle East.
He emphasized the need to further strengthen counter-terrorism measures and deepen cooperation to ensure collective security.
Following the meeting, proposals were developed to maintain stability along the Commonwealth's external borders.
