CIS ATC participates in the meeting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutor-Generals of the CIS member-states

The Head of the CIS ATC Evgeny Sysoev took part in the 35th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutor-Generals of the CIS member-states (CCPG), held on October 21, 2025, in Dushanbe.

The event was attended by the executives of the Prosecutor-General's offices of 9 CIS states (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan), CIS Deputy Secretary General, SCTO Secretary General, FIU-CIS Chair, Executive Secretary of the CIS CCPG, Chair of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

Before the meeting, the heads of delegations were received by President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon at the Palace of the Nation, who emphasized the important role of the Prosecutor's office in strengthening the rule of law and ensuring law and order, noted that over the past three decades a reliable system of cooperation in providing the rule of law and fighting on crime had been built in the CIS countries, and emphasized the key role of the prosecutor's office in strengthening the legal framework of interstate relations, coordination of activities of law enforcement authorities in the fight on crime, including corruption, extremism and terrorism.

The Council's meeting featured an interested dialogue on the most burning issues of the activities of supervisory authorities, as well as an exchange of national experience in organizing prosecution work.

One of the important outcomes of the meeting was the signing of an agreement on cooperation between the Prosecutor-General's Offices of the CIS member-states in countering illegal migration. The Prosecutor-Generals noted that illegal migration posed a threat to national and public security, economic stability, expanded opportunities for the activities of national and international terrorist and extremist organizations, organized criminal groups, and complicated the social and criminal situation in general.

By the decision of the Council, the Prosecutor General of Russia was unanimously elected a Chair of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutor-Generals of the CIS Member-States.

In his statement the Center's Head congratulated the participants on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Council and noted that throughout the years the CIS CCPG had been consistently solving complex and diverse tasks to strengthen law and order, skillfully combining the tools of political, diplomatic and prosecutors’ cooperation, and become one of the efficient integration mechanisms in the CIS.
