A practical training to prepare for the first and second stages of the CIS joint anti‑terrorism exercise “Eurasia‑Antiterror 2026” was held in Minsk, Republic of Belarus on September 9, 2026.
The event brought together experts from the competent authorities of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Anti-Terrorism Center of the CIS Member States, the Office for Coordinating the Fight against Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crime in the Territory of the CIS Member-States, the Secretariat of the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the CIS Member-States, the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti‑Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
During the session, the participants were briefed about the main exercise stages, the procedures for using shared information systems available to the security agencies, special services, law enforcement bodies, and financial intelligence units of the Commonwealth countries, as well as standard situational tasks.
The joint anti‑terrorism exercise “Eurasia‑Antiterror 2026” will be conducted in three stages across the territories of six CIS countries: the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In September, during the first and second stages, training tasks will be comprehensively practiced, focusing on countering the financing of terrorism, detecting the cross‑border movement of terrorist fighters, and preventing terrorist attacks at venues with large gatherings of people.
The operational phase of the exercise will be held in October in the Republic of Belarus in a combined format with the final stage of the joint anti‑terrorism exercise of the competent authorities of the SCO member-states. It will involve special units from the competent authorities of the Republic of Belarus, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People’s Republic of China, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
